Proposals That Convert

Share Post

Are you a florist looking to step away from weddings and start working with hotels? In our latest podcast episode, “Proposals That Convert,” we discuss how to create effective proposals that resonate with hotel managers and secure lucrative contracts. Here’s a detailed guide to help you navigate this process.

Understanding the Difference

The first thing to know is that hotel proposals are vastly different from event or wedding proposals. In the floral industry, we’re often taught to create extensive, multi-page proposals filled with details about who we are, our offerings, mood boards, aesthetics, and more. This approach can be time-consuming and often frustrating when these proposals get ghosted, renegotiated, or shopped around.

The Hotel Proposal Approach

Hotels don’t have the time to sift through lengthy proposals. They prefer concise, one-page documents that provide all the necessary information at a glance. This approach not only saves time but also converts better and faster. If you absolutely need more space, keep it to a maximum of three pages.

Key Elements of a Successful Hotel Proposal

  1. Who You Are: Briefly introduce yourself and your floral business.
  2. Why They Should Care: Explain the value you bring and how you can help them improve their guest experience.
  3. What They’ll Get: Outline your services, the budget, and the value you provide. Highlight any unique insights or opportunities you’ve identified.
  4. Next Steps: Include the start date, payment terms, and contract duration.

Remember, it’s not the proposal that sells your services—it’s the in-person meeting and walkthrough where you made your impression.

The proposal is just a summary of the key points discussed.
